Scripps Mercy Hospital is a private Catholic teaching hospital located in San Diego, California. Founded in 1890, it is the oldest hospital in San Diego County and has campuses in Chula Vista, California and Hillcrest, a neighborhood of San Diego. The hospital has 700 acute-care licensed beds and employs 1,300 physicians. The Hillcrest campus is home to one of only two regional Level I Trauma Centers and receives more than 2,100 trauma patients each year.[3]
